Polycarbonate sheet features favorable toughness and strength. Standard procedures shall be followed during cutting to achieve smooth cut‑edges and prevent plate damage. Specific cutting methods and operational details are presented below:

1. Unfolding and Placing the Sheet
   Slowly unroll the coiled polycarbonate sheet and lay it flat on a clean, dry surface free of sharp debris. Avoid pulling or tugging during unfolding to prevent scratches. For large‑size sheets, place weighted objects along edges to secure the sheet and avoid displacement while cutting.
2. Measuring and Marking Cutting Lines
   Use a tape measure and straight ruler to take precise length and width measurements. Mark clear, straight cutting lines along the ruler with special wax crayons or erasable markers to avoid surface contamination. Double‑check dimensions during marking and keep dimensional error within 1‑2 mm to prevent out‑of‑spec finished pieces.
3. Elevation Treatment for the Sheet
   Place flat‑section square tubes directly underneath the marked cutting line. The square tubes shall be longer than the sheet width to evenly support the sheet. Maintain an elevation height of 3‑5 cm. This height facilitates saw‑blade penetration and protects the underlying ground from damage.
4. Inspection and Adjustment of Saw Blades
   Select proper saw blades according to sheet thickness. Fine‑tooth alloy saw blades with ≥60 teeth are recommended; 80‑tooth blades are preferred for thinner sheets. Check blades for sharpness, nicks and deformation, and replace heavily worn blades. After installation, run the saw without load for 3‑5 seconds. Proceed only when steady rotation with no shaking or abnormal noise is confirmed.
5. Precision Cutting Operation
   Keep the saw blade parallel to the cutting line. Hold the saw handle with both hands and feed at a constant moderate speed of 10‑15 cm per second. Excessively fast feeding causes burrs or material melting at cut‑edges. Lightly press the sheet edge during cutting to suppress vibration and guarantee straight cuts. Upon completion, polish cut‑edges gently with sandpaper to remove burrs.
